22.

I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to my two best friends.

I miss and think about you everyday Trev.
But I'm so glad to know you are in an amazing place serving our Lord.

I'm so proud of you Scotty for how strong you have been through out these last five months.
I'm so glad we have been able to stay so close, you are always going to be one of the best friends a person could ask for.
We love you so much!
Happy 22nd Birthday.

.

It's been awhile. A long while.
And a lot of things have happened in the last month or two.
Some parts really great and another part that I wish I could put in the VCR, rewind back to before it happened and throw that piece of film away.

This has been one of the hardest months of my life.
And I haven't really known how to write about it, that is why it has taken me so long.

I've just been in denial, and pushing it to the back of my mind, and that has been my way of handling it.

November 8, I received the worst news I ever could have imagined receiving and hope to never get a call like that that again. ever.

Gosh, I don't even know what to say about this to give what Trevor meant to me in my life the justice it deserves.

He was truly one of my very best friends. We have hung out together since the end of elementary me and the two sets of twins, but since high school and the years before his mission we got really close.
We could talk about anything and everything together. And we usually did sitting out on my front porch, well after our curfews.

He was such an amazing person, with the most clever and hilarious sense of humor.
and i'm going to miss it so much.

I am so proud of his and Scott's examples to go and serve our Lord for 2 years.
Writing Trev on his mission, I could tell there was a change in him, he loved being out in Texas and spreading the gospel to those in need of a little hope. He was there hope, and now is all of ours.

Farewell

So a group of us were lucky enough to be invited to Ririe Idaho the weekend of Kaite's farewell to spend time with Katie Jo and the Parker family before Katie left on her mission to Guatemala.

We had a blast, and the parker family were great hosts as always. We got to go boating at Ririe Dam (It was the first time I have ever gone tubing and it scared the crap out of me-and made me sore for days!), ate delicious greasy Big Jud hamburgers, enjoyed beautiful scenery, played glow in the dark volleyball, and listened to the amazing Katie Jo give her farewell speech at church.

She did such an amazing job and is going to be a Fantastic missionary.
We love and are are going to miss you Sister Katie Jo Parker.

p.s

Who freakin knew all you had to do was update the settings on blogger to get bigger pictures!
It is fantastic!

To the Mona Melon Leaf Tribe

well....its official.

school is now over. thank you.

and I no longer live in logan.

Last week was one of the hardest weeks I have been through in a long while.

Filled with hours of my final photo project, few hours of sleep, and many emotions.

My three years living up at school on my own has taught me that I do not deal with change very well. Which surprised me...I always thought I loved change until I found out I don't, and i do not deal with it very well.

Change makes me cry. So this last weekend i cried a lot. Why?

Because I had to move away from these girls:
It is the weirdest feeling.

There are really no words to describe how grateful I am to have been given the opportunity to live with these six amazing ladies the last 2 and some 3 years.

We have become sisters, and all get along incredibly well. I think there are only a handful of times that I can think of where we even disagreed about something. And that is saying something...cause i'm not sure that happens to often when 7 girls live together in one house.

I love you girls so much and am going to miss all of our late night conversations and playing tetris til all hours of the morning. Thank you for your amazing examples and for letting me be your friend...seriously though I am so so grateful for it.

Even though change is hard for me, I am so excited for where life is taking me. It is kind of scary but I couldn't have picked a more amazing person to share it with. Thanks Kev for all your help moving me out, and for putting up with my random outbreaks of tears.

mission call.

This beautiful lady Katie Jo Parker.
Received her mission call!

She will be serving in the Guatemala, Guatemala City Mission speaking Spanish!
She leaves June 29....one day before the wedding :(
But we are all so excited for her!
This year has brought many many changes to the Ivy House.
3 of us will be gone next year...
I think we are all starting to realize it.
We have been staying up later to have little girl talk sessions like we used to
when we were young freshies and sophomores.

I can't believe how fast these three years have gone by.
We are going to be seniors in college next year.
How did that happen?

Congratulations Katie Jo.
You are going to an amazing missionary.
I look up to you so much and am so grateful we have been
able to live together the last two and a half years!

he likes the symphony.

Yesterday was kind of crazy and I didn't have time to write this.
But it was sort of a special day.

This boy Kevin Grant Young turned 24.

I can't believe it.
Its not very often that the boy you had a major crush on but was entirely out of your league your whole life..ends up asking you on a date...

I thought all my dreams had come true the night of our first date.
I was content because I got to go on a date with THE Kevin Young.

and then to my surprise and I still don't know why to this day.
He kept asking me on dates.

He is just so amazing and I am so grateful to have him in my life.

I'm so glad he gave me a chance, cause I think he is just great.
Happy Birthday Boy!

In lieu of the excitement this week.

Here are some pics of the sweet little HP partay we had at the Ivy House.
Little Dobby and Winkie.
Professor Trewlaney and Bellatrix.
Random Dobby nobody knew.

The crazy mobile dance party that surprised all of us right in the middle of our peaceful little party.
Hilarious.

*only 24hrs. left.

Sardine Canyon wishes Death On Me.

So I usually love summer Rains.

Especially when there is Lightning.

But this summer this is getting pretty ridiculous. It hasn't really even been summer cause it is always stinkin cold, overcast, and stormy.

Last night was no exception. Laura Luke and I drove to North Ogden to watch the So You Think You Can Dance at the Crockett household. It was a lot of fun. And I love Kent and am ecstatic they brought Mark back this season as an All-Star.. I love Mark.
Mark I love you.
So on the way home I believe Laura Luke and I experienced the scariest/funniest car rides in both of our long lived lives.
It was the craziest weather I have ever seen...people always talk about how mad Sardine Canyon gets during storms...and I always thought those people were wussies, but I now know what they are talking about.
It involved huge wind gusts that would shake the car, crazy hail, rain, lightning of outrageous proportions, hydroplaning, and a car with two terrified screaming girls.
Thank you Laura for letting me participate in that Epic car ride with you. It definitely made it on my list of unforgettable moments- Summer 2010.

Summer time in the Cache Valley.

I Love Summer.

Why?

It always brings the unexpected and the most fun adventures.

To me summer means friends, sun, so you think you can dance, tan feet, watermelon, lazy days, the fourth of July, swimming, vacation, smores, my Birthday, corn on the cob, fairs, fireworks, popcicles, and fun.

I have had a mega fine summer thus far in L-town. It has consisted of:
Moving into a nasty little apartment, but I do have my own room and bathroom which is rather nice.

I have a new little nephew. Ty Dustin Hillam. And I may be partial because I am his favorite aunt, but I think he is probably one of the cutest babies I have ever seen.

Mel let me come and take some pictures of him while I was home last week, and considering it was with my dinky little point n' shoot and light from the window I think they turned out pretty good. Obviously not maximum quality but we made due. Plus when the subject is as cute as Ty its hard to take a bad picture.
I'm so excited to have this little guy in our family. And to see how he completes the amazing Hillams little family. I love them so much. And so blessed to have such an incredible family.
Last week I took the week off and headed down south the the K-Town so I could spend a week full of adventures with this girl.
Stephanie DeLaMare.
We went shopping at the outlets in Park City. Went to a drive-in movie. Roasted Mallows. Sling shot-ted. Played a little game of capture the flag. Hung out with the girls. Got sunburned swimming. Put together a package for the Elder Strong's. Laughed. Watched Glee. Laughed. Had a sleep over. And it all went by to quickly.
Its crazy to think that my best friend will no longer be on the same continent as me in 17 days.
We have never not known each other, and have literally grown up together three houses apart for 20 years.
You might recall a post mentioning this beautiful girls twin sister (my other bestie) Shannon Sue Ellen. We have all gone through so much together. I don't think they will ever know how much I have looked up to them and their beautiful examples and testimonies.
Their dad got called as a mission president to the Philippines. So Dave, Kayla, Ben, and Steph are all moving June 27th. It is going to be such an amazing experience for their family, and I can't think of better people to have been called to this.
It just sucks that my best friend is leaving me. I know I should be super happy for them which I totally am. But sometimes I like to be a little bit selfish as well.

Step-On-Me you are going to have such an amazing experience, and I am going to miss you everyday. But I think it is safe to say if we can make it through 20 years...the next 20 will also be an adventure. All I have to say is Bring it on.

The six chicks + little Cambria. About to go swimming.

Slack Lining. Very difficult. Uber Cool. Makes Rick look like a GIANT.
I am super sad I didn't bring my camera on the boat. But the miss Laura Luke and I went Wake Boarding today with some awesome friends. Little to say this picture sums up the experience...Minus the freezing cold temperature and cloud cover that did not add to our summer goal of getting tan.
But we did have fun, and my fore arms got a massive work out. They hurt so bad I am having to type this with my toes. Wake Boarders are hard core it is a tough hobby/sport. My new goal: be able to stay up longer than 2 seconds next time I go.
Other fun shananigans of Summer 2010 so far...
  • Going four wheeling and to a Bee's Game with a cute boy.
  • Having Crepe Saturday's and Sunday's with the roomies.
  • Meeting new people.
  • Catching up on all of the Glee episodes.
  • Went golfing for the first time.
  • Seeing my brother Inlaw skydive.
  • Spending Memorial day with the Family.
  • Being able to read books. Hooray.
and just lovin life.

Hope you are having a great day.

Now & Then.

(ew. sorry this picture is kinda nasty quality. I had to take a picture of a picture cause it wasn't saved to my computer)

Saturday night I went down to SLC for Shannon Sue Ellens Bridal Shower.

After the shower the Six Chicks stayed together and had a little Six Chicks Bachelorette Party!

It was an amazingly fun night....it definitely wasn't your typical Bachelorette Party, but it was so fun.

These girls are amazing. It is crazy to think of all that we have been through as friends the last 7 years.

I'm so lucky to have such amazing friends.
Thank you girlies.

2.09.2010

a fun filled night.

So the Girls of P.V 4 decided we wanted to throw the lovely Hali Hesley a Surprise Party because her birthday was just kind of a pooper....problem was her birthday was on January 5th. And our intentions were to do it a week after, but that did not happen. So... better late then never right? On February 5th a month after her birthday we threw her a very late but very much deserved Surprise Belated Birthday Party! It was pretty dang successful...because she had absolutely no idea. Muahaha! We had our friend ask her on a "date" and when they got together he blind folded her and said it was part of date and she couldn't see where they were going. Little did she know he drove her back to our apartment...and we surprised her!
Here are some sweet little pics of the partaay.

Waiting.... SURPRISE!!!
She had absolutely no clue. We are good liars.

Hello Kitty Cake. Made by the famous Jessica Sweat.

Twenty.
The Crew.

Happy Birthday Hali Mariko Hesley! I am so grateful snow hall put us together last year! It has been a fun year and a half...and hopefully many more years to come.
