Christmas & New Years Eve

This year we were planning on staying in Sacramento for Christmas because Kevin was pretty positive he wouldn't be able to get work off. I was pretty darn sad but decided I would just make the best of it, and try to come up with some fun things we could do to make it special.

The Monday before Christmas Kev made me open a present early. The present ended up being snow boots....and he surprised me by saying "you are going to need these for our White Christmas in Utah!" I couldn't believe it, I thought he was joking. haha We were both so excited to go Home and see our families. We have both been pretty home sick lately.

So, Christmas Eve I picked up Kevin around Noon at work and we were off!! It didn't take long until we realized we were in for an adventure. 1/3 of the way through the Canyon between Sacramento and Reno it had started snowing, and soon after there were traffic signs everywhere saying you couldn't go through unless you had 4 wheel drive & snow tires or chains for your car. Luckily, we have 4 wheel drive and were able to keep going....but it was a bit scary! It took us about 15 hours to get home to Utah, when it normally takes 9 hours....it snowed the entire way and it was miserable! Ha. But we finally made it to Kev's Parents House at 4 AM and it was entirely worth it.

The next 3 days we just hung out with both of our families and it was so much fun! Kev got to go snowboarding, we visited our old ward, and we also got to talk to my parents through Skype on Christmas, it was so nice to be home! Since moving away, we both have realized how much we love and miss Utah. It was so fun to have a snowy Christmas....Ellie loved it too. She was in Heaven playing in the snow.

Our lovely Christmas Eve Dinner at El Pollo Loco. We were lucky it was open, cause not much else was!
We didn't do much for New Years Eve because Kev had work the next day....and we also don't know anyone. haha So, we had a fun night at home and made Steak Dinners and we I watched the Live 1989 Taylor Swift Concert. Both Kate and Kev were asleep before midnight....so it was a pretty exciting night. :)

Baby Kate - 4 Months.

I cannot believe how fast these last 4 and a half months have gone. We love our little Kate so much it is hard to even put into words how much she means to us. She has added so much to our little family, and we can't imagine life without her.

Right now she loves to be surprised/scared, that is what makes her giggle the hardest. She loves when Kev and I sing to her, she will even start "singing" along. She loves grabbing at anything that is around her and will stick whatever that may be right in her mouth. Rolls over on to her tummy from her left side, she still can't roll from her back to her tummy, but I don't think it will be long until she figures that out. She loves Ellie, and will start smiling as soon as she sees her walk into the room. Loves going on walks in the stroller, and does a pretty good job with sitting up, but is definitely still wobbly.

A Pumpkin Patch & San Francisco

A few Saturday's ago we had a pretty epic day. We started off the day at Bishop's Pumpkin Farm, we had heard so many great things about it and decided to go check it out...It was awesome. We are already looking forward to going back next year when Kate is a little older and will be able to ride some of the rides and enjoy it a bit more! They also had the BEST Apple Cider Kev and I have ever tasted, it was sooo good.

After we bought some cute Pumpkins for our porch, we drove to San Francisco. It was the first time there for both Kate and I. We stopped and took some pictures in front of the golden gate bridge at Baker Beach, then just drove around and explored. We went to dinner at this yummy little restaurant called The Grove and got ice cream at Smitten. It was a good day.
(The little cardigan Kate is wearing was my mom's when she was a baby, I love it so much!)

Our Big Adventure

So....a lot has changed for Kevin and I since our last post two years ago. I decided it was time to dust off this little old blog to document our new little family's adventure and life here in Sacramento!

Kevin got a job as a Business Manager with Apple in downtown Sacramento and we moved the middle of October. Did I mention we also bought our first house?! It has been a crazy few months for our little family, and I think its safe to say we are officially adults now. haha It is still hard to believe we are actually living here in California and that it hasn't just been an extended vacation. We are really loving our house and are trying (mostly me) to get used to the area we live in as well as trying to adjust being away from our family and friends and our lifestyle we grew so accustomed to in Utah.

summer rain.

Welp....its been FOREVER, I mean forever since I last blogged...and i'm not even going to apologize because I have been so incredibly busy the last 4 months its been insane. I am excited life is somewhat slowing down now that wedding season is over!

Kev and I had the privilege of being photographed by the amazing Amy Rau of Amy Rau Photography this summer. And here are a few from the session! We unfortunately got rained out at the end and my perfectly straight hair turned to fuzzy curls in less then 10 seconds of standing in the pouring mountain rain. Dang natural curly hair.
I will hopefully be posting about the rest of our summer adventures soon!

Spring Wish List.

Whenever the seasons start changing it makes me want to throw everything in my closet away and buy a whole new wardrobe....am I the only one this happens too?
Since I can't do this....I get my fix by pinning a bunch of super cute outfits...a girl can dream right!?

I am so ready for these dumb spring snow storms to leave forever!
Bring on the Sunshine, Tulips, and grass!!
